JOB TITLE: Care Manager
REPORTING TO: Managing Director
JOB PURPOSE:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for management of all IRC Care Services care staff, service users care packages and care provision field operations. Performance monitoring of all allocated services, ensure compliance with all stakeholders, and service users according to statutory and contractual requirements.
Promote and develop presence as a leading provider in Surrey according to IRC Care Services values and aims.
To lead and manage care staff in line with the organisation’s performance goals and development processes to achieve the overall IRC Care Services objectives and ensure CQC and stakeholders required compliance, regulations and procedures.
Excellent knowledge of the care sector including CQC regulatory and contractual frameworks, government legislation and quality assurance.
Good knowledge of health and social care policies and procedures, proposed changes in government legislation and the impact of these changes on health and social care services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that appropriate approaches to safeguarding are firmly embedded in service delivery, be responsible for Service Users Assessments, Monitoring and Reviews.
- Work closely with the company director and care coordinator where there are Safeguarding related incidents, leading internal investigations and taking appropriate action where necessary;
- Ensure delivery of safeguarding action plans to keep the people we support safe and to maintain regulatory compliance in conjunction with the CQC and address any areas of non-compliance;
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in services, utilising the reporting, feedback and reviews from Quality and Excellence Partners and Peer Reviewers in order to drive service excellence
- Co-ordinate and produce monitoring systems and data to measure operational performance and deliver reports to the Director and other stakeholders;
- Ensure that lessons learned and best practices are disseminated across all services and inform/support change in practice, policy and guidance, ultimately improving quality and performance
- Act as a champion and work collaboratively with support services to develop a culture which embeds clinical management and safeguarding
- Responsible for the Management of Service Users care packages, staff rota and ensure successful operation of quality control systems;
- To ensure that all computerized and manual records under care consist of all required documentation and are filed accordingly.
- Implementation of complaints procedure, quality assurance monitoring, implement IRC’s staff training and company development strategy.
- To liaise with service users/relatives, carers and work with the Care Coordinator, Finance Manager, Director and other Social and Healthcare professionals;
- To act as emergency cover to carers whilst in the workplace and out of office hours in order to ensure safe and effective care provision takes place to meet the service user’s needs and rights.
